LED Enterprises' 140-Mile Natural Gas Pipeline Advances in Maricopa and Yuma Counties |
On April 2, 2025, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved LED Enterprises, LLC's request to commence the Pre-Filing Environmental Review Process for the proposed Yuma Pipeline Project.
This significant step allows for early collaboration with stakeholders to address potential environmental concerns before a formal application is submitted.
The Yuma Pipeline Project plans to construct approximately 140 miles of 30-inch-diameter natural gas pipeline traversing Maricopa and Yuma counties in Arizona.
Designed to transport up to 800 million cubic feet per day of natural gas, the pipeline will connect an existing El Paso Natural Gas Company pipeline to the United States-Mexico border near San Luis, Arizona.
LED Enterprises, an affiliate of Grupo CLISA, aims to meet the growing demand for natural gas in northwestern Mexico and support power generation needs in the Yuma area and throughout Arizona.
To engage the community and gather input, LED Enterprises has scheduled two informational open house meetings:
Tuesday, June 10, 2025 5:00-7:00 P.M. MST City Hall Ground Floor Room 530 Monroe Ave, Buckeye, Arizona 85326
Wednesday, June 11, 2025 5:00-7:00 P.M. MST Holiday Inn Express 2044 S Avenue 3E, Yuma, Arizona 85365
These sessions offer residents and officials an opportunity to learn more about the project, interact with the project team, and provide feedback ahead of the formal FERC application.
Community participation is crucial during the Pre-Filing Process.
FERC encourages public comments and involvement to ensure that all environmental and community concerns are thoroughly considered.
For more information or to submit comments, individuals can visit FERC's eLibrary and reference Docket No. PF25-8-000.
Alternatively, the Office of Public Participation is available at 202-502-6595 or via email at [email protected].
As the Yuma Pipeline Project progresses through the Pre-Filing Process, ongoing community engagement and transparent communication will be essential to address environmental considerations and meet regional energy needs effectively. |
